D97 Credits PING! with Music Program’s Success
Kanwischer told Wednesday Journal he credited the award to D97’s partnership with the nonprofit PING!, which works to provide students in need with band and orchestra instruments. The Oak Park-based organization has been vital to helping sustain the district’s music program participants over the years and especially during the pandemic as local families were impacted financially, Kanwischer said.
Congratulations to D97 for National Recognition in Music
Congratulations to D97 for being honored with a 2020 Best Communities for Music Education designation from the NAMM Foundation (National Association of Music Merchants)!
As noted on the foundation’s website the “survey questions are aligned with goals for equity and access to music education for all students, and also with national standards for music education.”
PING! takes pride in our role in making D97’s instrumental music program accessible to all students regardless of their financial circumstances, and we very much value the partnership we have with D97. Thanks for all our music educators do to make music very real for all kids.
