Donate an Instrument or Accessories

PING! gratefully accepts instruments and accessories to augment its inventory, replace existing instruments, or raise funds by selling donations to improve PING!’s inventory or provide repairs and supplies for PING! students.

PING! prefers to receive instruments in playable shape with only minor repairs, tuning up necessary so that we can keep expenses to a minimum. PING! will accept those that need more work to make them playable, but they are more likely to be sold or wait in the wings for repairs.

Donations PING! Does Not Accept

  • Acoustic pianos (see below for digital pianos)
  • Guitars (acoustic or electric)
  • Cornets
  • Oboes (We will take them but we will more than likely sell in order to purchase instruments and accessories that we need; we keep a few oboes in inventory in case one of our clarinet students advances to playing such in middle school.)
  • Full drum sets (see below for alternative)
  • Recorders
  • Sheet music
  • Instruments that are broken beyond repair or to such an extent that the cost of repair would be more than PING! would spend to acquire a working instrument.

NOTE: For digital piano donations, PING! will reach out to its families to see if anyone is interested. If so, PING! will put the family in touch directly with the donor and they will arrange between themselves for pick-up/drop off of the instrument.

NOTE: As with digital pianos, PING! will reach out to percussion families to assess interest.
